While we receive inquiries about representation in many areas, we frequently receive calls for assistance in the copyright and trademark fields. There are many requests for information regarding copyright and trademark protection and registration. Frequently we can answer caller questions in a brief telephone conversation. Sometimes we are asked to evaluate cases of copyright or trademark infringement, which we can begin to do over the phone, with appropriate follow up.

     We are always interested in greeting potential clients. We do not bill for time we spend explaining to a prospective client our background, or whether our credentials are in areas which are helpful to a client. Introductions, and time spent seeing if we are a good attorney-client match, is FREE.

     If a client requests legal advice, this is something for which we bill. Prior to charging the client we will explain whether the information which they are seeking is something for which we bill, so they are not surprised about any charges. An advance estimate as to charges will usually be possible, unless an extensive project is involved. If a client wishes to obtain our advice we may be able to simply bill by mail. We frequently give brief consultations over the phone to explore a limited issue that involves a small fee.

     We also evaluate infringement and other claims as contingency fee cases, (We get paid a legal fee only if we recover money or property for a client). We will be happy to discuss with you whether we can do a FREE contingency fee case evaluation.

     We appear in various courts across the country, and your inquiry about whether we may handle a matter in your jurisdiction will be routine to us, and happily addressed.
